Can flat feet cause my calves to get pulled repeatedly?
I’m *not* medically qualified but doing high-impact sports could give you flat feet. If you dance in bare feet then more likely. The swelling could be Oedema or Lymphoedema, though I would expect also swollen ankles aswell. You’re seeing an expert but I will leave you with two anti- flat feet exercises… Arch Rolls: Using a spare rolling pin, full can/tin or similar item, roll your in-step over it. Calf/Toe-raises: Standing on a step and holding onto something for support, extend your heel and mid-foot over the edge, slowly lifting up & down. Even though you are fit you may find your calves & hamstrings very stiff until you get used to this last exercise. The first exercise I learnt from ex-President Jimmy Carter, who had flat feet and initially failed to get into the US Navy during WW2. He eventually got in and also had increased his height too.
