Can fish change their gender like frogs?
A few species can, but not all. And there are thousands of species of fish! Some species of Clownfish for example, the largest and most dominate fish will become female. If she dies one of the subordinate fish will rise up the ranks and become female to replace her. They can’t change back. Whereas some species of Anthia will change from female to male as they age or if there is a lack of males where they are living. Whereas to buck all trends the Amazon Molly breaks the rules, the ENTIRE species is female. Technically they should have become extinct thousands of years ago, but they just need to be in contact with a related species male and they can reproduce, but get rid of all the genetic make up of the related species to give birth to pure Amazons! http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pf… So some fish species can change sex, but not all!
