Can ferrets eat caramel?

No human food is appropriate for animals. In the case of caramel, it’s mostly made up of sugar, which isn’t great in large amounts as it’s fattening and damages teeth. It’s also sticky-chewy and may get stuck in her teeth, and start up a rot. It’s just a precaution, but if you have supplies to brush her teeth (tooth brush, or even just gauze), you may do this now. Something that viscous can also be a choking hazard. Just keep them away from her from now on. That little bit is okay, let her consider it a special treat, but ensure she doesn’t eat any more.
