Can farms with supply-managed production apply to CAIS?

0

Farms with supply-managed sales such as dairy or poultry farms are eligible to apply to CAIS, the same as a cattle or cash crop producer. Payments to supply-managed producers may be adjusted/reduced to reflect the supply-managed portion of their farm. If the margin decline is less than 30 percent of the reference margin (Tiers 1 and 2) then the supply management adjustment is applied. If the margin decline is greater than 30 percent of the reference margin (Tier 3) then no supply management adjustment is applied to any portion of the program benefits.
