Can FactNet models be tuned on-line?
FactNet models are easily tuned using on-line data. This tuning can be set up to run automatically. However, care must be taken to remove all start-ups, shutdowns as well as bad test results from the database prior to model tuning. A better way to perform model tuning is for a mill engineer to perform a manual tuning on a periodic basis. The engineer can easily screen out bad or unrepresentative data prior to model tuning insuring maximum accuracy. The average time for this type of manual tuning is usually less than ten minutes.
