Can external content management systems be integrated into Oracle Portal?
Oracle Portal provides a variety of integration technologies for aggregating and publishing content from any source. These include APIs and WebDAV support for propagating content to the Portal Repository for publishing, and portlets for aggregating content that is published externally to the portal. OmniPortlet provides a wizard based interface for querying and formatting content stored in external repositories-users see consistent formatting and presentation, regardless of the originating content store or application. Conventional search systems can also be used to locate content and publish it directly to a portal, without requiring portal users to define and submit their own search criteria. A number of best-of-breed content management products are pre-integrated with Oracle Portal through portlets provided by our partners.
