Can Evolution help predict the future about the human race and its changing characteristics ?
Evolution happens when a species needs to adapt to its environment. For humans, evolution has pretty well stopped: we’re short sighted, so we wear glasses (no need to evolve better eyes); we’re hot, so we invent air conditioning; we need to travel underwater, so we invent submarines. We adapt by using machines, not genes. It would require a near collapse of civilisation before we started to naturally evolve again.
