Can everyone get DSL?
A user’s telephone line must be qualified to carry the DSL signal. DSL technology uses an electric signal over the copper line. Over long distances these signals tend to face and distort. Therefore, longer distance means slower speeds. Also, telephone companies have been putting equipment into their networks that help voice traffic, but hurt data signals. If this equipment (load coils, bridge tap, or pair gain) is on the line DSL will not work.
