Most people can be hypnotised successfully if they’re happy and willing to do so. Hypnotherapists do not normally work with children under five or people who have a history of psychotic illness, epilepsy or severe clinical depression.

Most people can be hypnotised if they want to be, providing they understand the instructions they are given. It would be difficult to hypnotise someone against their will, as cooperation between the subject and hypnotist is needed. All age groups can benefit, including children.
