Can Evergreen allow a patron to set up a hold on home library records but not on consortium library records?
Holds are not at a copy level like circulations are. Patrons will be placing title level holds in the system. Therefore, implementing different hold limits at different libraries would be difficult. The hold doesn’t actually get associated with a library until after the patron places the hold and the hold targeter runs so there’s no way, in the system currently, to block the user from placing a hold against a certain library’s limits. You can only decide whether your copy would fill a hold for a patron outside your system AND how many holds total can users from a certain library have. With a de-duplicated database where all the holdings from the various libraries are on one title record, this is the only thing that makes sense. This could be done by giving a customer a different user profile which only allows “My System Holds”, instead of “ICLs” (Intra-Consortium Loans). Some of the libraries have reciprocal borrowing agreements with neighboring counties that will NOT be part of the SC
