Can European students receive scholarships from other Community programmes for the purpose of following an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course?
European students can apply for an Erasmus/Socrates scholarship under the standard Erasmus/Socrates conditions and procedures. In practice, this means that the university in which the European student starts the Erasmus Mundus Masters Course may grant an Erasmus/Socrates scholarship for the student’s study period at the second hosting institution within the Erasmus Mundus Masters consortium. Erasmus/Socrates scholarships can cover mobility periods of 3 to 12 months. It is therefore not (yet) possible for European students to receive an Erasmus/Socrates scholarship for the whole duration of an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course. However, the proposal for the new Erasmus/Socrates programme (as of 2007) foresees this possibility.
