Can erythromycin cause bleeding if you have bronchiectasis?
I guess you know that you have some damaged area in one of the air passages from your trachea. Since you are taking erythromyycin, you are probably having a bad spell with a lung infection and consequent cough producing yellow or green sputum (phlegm); this often contains pus and occasionally flecks of blood, the latter not caused by the antibiotic. Don’t stop taking the erythromycin but make an appointment to see your doc and continue to use postural drainage to help cough up the gunge. Sometimes it is possible to remove the damaged lung area if severe symptoms persist.
