Can engineered floors be re-sanded?
The thickness of the wear layer determines whether the floors can be re-sanded. Engineered wear layers generally range from 0.6mm to 4mm. The thicker the wear layer, the more the floors may be re-finished. Authentic Pine Floors are 4mm so their wear layer is similar to that of a solid wood floor and can be re-finished 2 to 3 times. However, with Authentic Oil Finish™ maintained properly, the floors should never need refinishing.
