Can Engine lid louvers be removed easily?
Reason I ask is because a friend of mine in the tool and dye trade said he would like to see them first hand. I mentioned that I’d sure like to be able to have them in clear plexiglass instead of the black OEM plastic. If I’m not able to easily remove them it will require purchasing individual pieces from Lotus Parts and I believe all four would be necessary because each of the four pieces look to have their own individual angle-cuts. The larger louvers are around $72 each and the smaller ones at about $52. A: Ridge, Cut the plastic rivets at the bottom of the louvers and remove them, than gently pry the louvers off. they are stuck to the lid with double sided tape and nothing else. It should be an easy job ajnd they should come out without much drama and without damaging the lid.
