Can endometriosis cause premature labor?

While the data is scant concerning the relationship between Endometriosis and preterm labor, there are several anecdotal reports among patients in the Endo community to that end. Also, the data *does* reflect a higher risk of spontaneous preterm delivery and preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) in women specifically with Adenomyosis (Endometriosis of the myometrium, or muscular wall of the uterus) [ref: BJOG. 2007 Feb;114(2):165-9. Epub 2006 Dec 4.] There have also been extensively documented reports in the scientific literature of such risks among women who have mullerian abnormalities, such as a unicornuate uterus, etc. While this type of complication is not prevalent specifically among those with Endometriosis also, there are cases where both anomalies exist. There are older studies which infer a possible risk of preterm delivery in women with Endo, but again, th
