Can employees who participate in school-based courses still receive course credit even if those school site courses began after September 1, 2008? What about my stipend?
Yes. Courses that started before September 1, 2008 or courses that started on or after September 11, 2008 will be approved for credit; however, any school-based courses that started between September 1, 2008 and before September 11, 2008 will not be offered for credit (and remember that credit has to be offered for there to be a stipend). The Georgia Department of Education will provide oversight to the department in much the same manner that they would for a state approved vendor for the delivery of professional learning courses for credit.
