Can employees enroll in Commonwealth Care?
Commonwealth Care is not a replacement for employer-sponsored insurance. It is government-subsidized health insurance for uninsured individuals who meet certain income and eligibility guidelines. Employees are not eligible for Commonwealth Care if they have access to an employer-sponsored health plan for which the employer contributes at least thirty-three percent of the cost of the individual premium and at least twenty percent of the premium for a family plan.
