Can elevated intraocular pressure cause retinal detachment?

Have you had a dilated retinal examination done by an ophthalmologist lately? If not, then go get one done. If you are severely myopic, meaning nearsighted, then get a dilated exam done by a retina specialist because severe myopes need retina people to take a good look at their thinner than usual retinas anyway… Severe myopia can be the root reason for a lot of eye conditions, I’ve discovered recently. I have elevated IOP but it’s not a major concern yet, and definitely not an issue for the retina. Well, that’s what the docs tell me anyway… Just get a visual field test done once a year to check for glaucoma problems. High iop levels can indicate risk of glaucoma. IOP is a complex thing that changes every second… Ge your dilation done to put your mind at ease. But my guess you suffer from ocular migraines.
