Can electric fences be constructed?

Changes were recently enacted to the City code so that electrically charged fences can be used for livestock and pasture management in the UE and RUL zones. These fences must not exceed a maximum amperage, have to be surrounded by permanent fencing, and if they are located along a public right-of-way, must contain signs identifying them as being electrically charged. Existing fences that don’t meet these standards would be allowed to continue indefinitely, unless the fence is relocated or modified. At that time the fence would have to meet the above requirements.
