Can ear wax cause tinnitus, if ear wax is removed will the problem be cured?

First, please try to relax as stress can aggravate tinnitus. And I’m sorry you had such a bad experience with your ENT. No doctor would recommend the extreme measure of going under anesthesia to have ear wax removed. Ear wax can painlessly be removed at home with over the counter drops and syringe. Or you can try ear candles (you won’t believe what comes out of your ears when you do). This is very relaxing. Ear wax can cause tinnitus, so if you think that is your problem by all means address it first. But it is not the most common cause – exposure to loud noise is the most common cause. Tinnitus does not cause deafness although it can make it hard to hear over the noise in your head sometimes.
