In computer-based testing the timing is tied to the test-taker, not to a group administration. If a test-taker doesn’t require the allotted time to complete the test, he or she may move on to the next section and the computer monitors the timing of the test. During the initial implementation of CBT starting in 2011 test centers may offer both paper-based and computer-based testing with the GED Test. An individual test-taker may combine scores across the two delivery modes until the new assessment is released sometime in 2014.
