Can e-assessment be used for higher order skills?
Yes. Well designed objective questions can assess high order skills. There is a myth that objective testing is only appropriate for low-level skills. Most of Bloom’s hierarchy of cognitive skills can be assessed using objective questions. However, its not easy to create objective questions that assess the higher order skills (such as synthesis and analysis) and there are few (good) examples of such questions.
