Can duct tape be used on a moisture barrier (foam underlayment) when installing laminate floors?”
Duct tape will dry up and loose all holding power with in a year, if used on a heat duct less than 6 months. Duct tape is temporary, and in my opinion for emergency use only (or no use better yet). Secondly duct tape is to thick will leave lumpy floor, and glue can ooze out/bleed through and prevent proper expansion. Get the proper tape for the purpose, Personally don’t like the hollow box sound you get with the foam underlayment/laminate floor combo so not sure what tape is required. but I would guess it is very similar to vapor barrier tape. order it on line/overnight ship if none of the home maintenance stores near you have it. Imagine having to rip it up and redo it in 3-6 months………
