For outdoor applications luminaires with a minimum rating of IP 23 (protected against dripping water) must be used. The lamps must be equipped with a protection glass. Due to possible effects of moisture, it is recommended to use downlights that are made of zamak (zinc-aluminum alloy) or plastic.
