Can dogs have black nails on their paws?

I know plenty of dogs with black nails. Online doesn’t mean anything. If you want a puppy you go and see it. See how it lives and how it is raised. See it’s temperament. Pictures don’t really say much and there are too many people that are good at photoshop. Photoshop can fix a dog to look perfect when the dog is really sickly and looks terrible. I never purchase animals unless I have seen them, have seen the results of genetic tests, and also have seen their pedigree, and also I see where they were raised and also I want to see the puppy and their temperament to make sure they are healthy.

Yes, black nails are very common in dogs. The black ones make it a little more tricky when it comes to clipping. Use the white nails to judge how much to take off the black nails. Meaning…Clip the white nails where you can see the quick/blood line and then take off the same amount when clipping the black nails.

my pug has all black nails and its best to take your dog to a groomers or vet to get your nails trim because when the nail gets cut to short and it bleeds, it takes forever for the nail to stop bleeding and alot of dogs don’t like their paws touched.
