Can/do animals get poison ivy/oak/sumac?

I recently did a home visit for Doberman Rescue. The young man really did not want to fence in his yard and pointed out some poison ivy. I explained to him that while the dog would be just fine, he could easily transfer the poison ivy oil to him or others in the house. I suggested he eradicate it.\ The cats are good and since they are feral you’re not in danger of them transferring it to you. Thanks for feeding them. Not enough of us do that. It’s not really their fault they’re feral and probably were dumped by people (I have trouble calling them humans) a generation or more ago. But then this is why I often prefer animals to people. Nuff said.
