Can different oils be mixed together?

The burner, with its patented pre-heating element is designed to bring a range of different fuels to a common viscosity and ignition point. Mixing different fossil fuels in the system is perfectly acceptable. Mixing vegetable oil and mineral oil together will result in a degree of natural separation in the tank. We would therefore advise that a change of fuel from mineral to vegetable (or vice versa) is carried out once the original fuel is as low as possible in the tank, ideally flushed right through. This avoids the occurrence of fuel coagulation and gives the burner every chance of creating a clean, accurate flame path. Return to top of page.
