Both of these medications are part of the Bendo family of drugs and are usually prescribed for mild to severe anxiety. Both of these medications have a calming affect that help settle ones nerves and anxious feelings. Usually one of these medications should dull the affects of an anxiety attack but if the dosage is low (Diazepam 2mg for instance, or Clonazepam .5mg) than maybe you need a higher dosage of either medication (Diazepam comes in 5mg and 10mg and Clonazepam 1mg and 2mg). Increasing the dosage would most likely treat your anxiety much better and would not force you to take both Diazepam and Clonazepam together. But if you are in a situation in which you can not increase your dosage than taking both together would be ok, since both do basically the same thing but just watch out for an overdose and the side effects.
