If your dependent is currently enrolled, they are also covered during retirement. New eligible dependents can be added at the time of retirement. If you wish to add an eligible dependent, submit a written request within 60 days of your retirement, including your dependent’s name, relationship to you, date of birth, Social Security number, copy of your marriage certificate if adding a spouse, (or a copy of Birth Certificate if adding a child), copy of their Medicare card (if applicable) and creditable coverage letter from their previous health insurance carrier (if applicable).
