Basic dental training does incorporate endodontic procedures. In many cases dentists do perform endodontic work. However, in more complex situations the dental endodontist may be required. This applies for serious dental and even facial trauma. Even minor injuries can lead to serious tooth inflammations and infections. Proper and immediate treatment to save teeth is generally performed by dental endodontist. Only after specialised endodontic procedures the reconstructive surgery can begin.
