Can Deism help stem the tide of religious violence?
In any argument it is a good idea to find some sort of common ground the opposing sides can agree upon. Currently we have primarily adherents of the Big Three Abrahamic “revealed” religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam attacking and killing each other over their religious differences. About the only thing they all agree on is the existence of God. The only required belief in Deism is belief in the existence of God. Even though Deists believe in God based on the application of their reason upon the designs in Nature which they believe presupposes a Designer, which makes Deism a natural religious belief, Deists stop there. There are no added man-made dogmas, rituals or doctrines which are so conducive to conflicts and fighting. And there are no clergy to lead the troops. Deists embrace a reliance on reason over faith.
