No. They are not connected. Omega 3 fatty acids are known as essential fatty acids. They are essential to human health and cannot be manufactured by the body so have to be obtained via the diet.Sources include: oily fish, such as salmon, tuna, herring and halibut, other marine life such as blue green algae [spirulina] and krill, certain plant sources such as purslane, walnuts and flaxseed oil.
