Can cricket fans stump Ashton?
BBC Sport has challenged its audience to “stump the Test Match Special (TMS) statistician with a cricketing question”. TMS’s Malcolm Ashton, formerly scorer for the England team, has already survived 18 months as the programme’s stats guru. He joined TMS after Bill ‘Bearders’ Frindall died aged just 60. Frindall, once described as “the doyen of cricket scorers” was renowned for the speed at which he researched the most obscure cricketing facts while keeping perfect scorecards.
