To flag the result for a special event, such as an AST result or after exercise, leave the test strip in the meter and press the left arrow or right arrow button. An asterisk appears at the bottom right hand corner of the display. If a control test needs to be flagged instead, pressing the left arrow or right arrow button again after the asterisk appears will enable the control vial symbol to appear at the bottom left hand corner of the display. The result will be flagged in memory with the control vial icon and will not be included in calculation of the average.
