Can contracts and survey vendors add questions to the survey?
Yes. CMS will allow contracts and survey vendors to add a small number of questions to the survey (at the discretion of the contracts); however, all additional questions must be placed after all CAHPS core questions in the questionnaires. CMS will not analyze data for additional questions (this will be the responsibility of the survey vendors).
