There are some classroom accommodations that are not appropriate for the state assessment. The inclusions document (which is regulation) states that the content passages may not be paraphrased. However, pages 21 and 22 of the Inclusions document explain when paraphrasing IS allowed. Reading and content passages may not be paraphrased. Basically, repeating or rephrasing the directions, prompts and situations are it. They can leave out unnecessary words, break long sentences into parts, use similar words as long as they are not defining concepts being tested. Can CTBS and KCCT test copies be stamped with “Tested with Accommodations”? This is not necessary. The yellow student listings sheets which come with the Kentucky Performance Report (CATS results) lists when accommodations are used. This information is gotten from section 7e on page 2 of the student response booklet.
