CF Bulbs are not recommended for use outdoors in temperatures below 5C and they tend to perform badly. Excessive warm up times, failure to start, and shortened life span are associated with using compact fluorescent bulbs in cold conditions, below 5C, and especially below OC. Some compact fluorescent bulbs available with special cold-weather ballasts, which may be rated to as low as -23°C (-10°F). UnityTM LED Lights are well suited for use indoors and outdoors from -40C to +40C.
