Can Clomid Interfere with Ovulation Test Results?
Clomiphene Citrate (Clomid/Serophene) can interfere with ovulation test results – generally in the form of a “false positive”. However, clomid generally causes a false positive only if you perform an ovulation test too soon after taking the clomid – or too early in your cycle. Most drug manufacturers suggest you should not start testing with the ovulation predictor kit until several days after you finish the last dose of clomid/clomiphene. Also, ovulation predictor kit instructions will provide you with a clear “begin testing” date based on the average length your menstrual cycle. In most cases, this “begin testing” period is after the time interval in which clomid can cause false positive results on an ovulation test.
