I think so. Clogged carotid arteries result in decreased blood flow to the brain, which results in decreased brain function, which could have a marked effect on memory. However, once blood flow is improved through carotid artery surgery, overall brain function (and memory) should improve. There are other things that can have an effect on memory such as Alzheimer’s Disease, other conditions due to the aging process.
