Can clients tamper with CrypKeys time-dependent licenses by setting back their PC clocks?
No. CrypKey records each time clients check their license status from within your product. If clients set back their clocks more than 75 minutes, CrypKey generates an error code for your product. Additional Clock Manipulation Checks: Programs are available on the market that automate the process of changing a computer’s clock so time-restricted protection can be bypassed. These programs change the time that the protected program sees. For example, if the time never extends beyond your program’s trial period, in theory, your program will run indefinitely. CrypKey safeguards against clock manipulations by monitoring your customers’ computers for the inconsistencies such an attack generates. CrypKey detects when time is falsely reported to your program and prevents your program from running.
