Can children swear/cuss/use “bad” language if its not offending other children?
The learning community will determine what kind of culture is best for learning. Children will be taught there is a difference between freedom to learn and license to do whatever you want. The goal is to develop a higher level of thinking in which students care about others’ feelings as well as their own. Meanwhile, children will be empowered to share their feelings about things that are uncomfortable to them, which will serve them much better in life than following someone else’s meaningless rules.
