Can children or young people use MacSpeech Dictate?
The voices of pre-adolescents are not well-suited for use with speech recognition products for several reasons. For instance, the voices of children, or teenagers whose voices have not yet fully matured, do not have the right characteristics. Also, the younger the user, the less likely it will be that they have developed the necessary language skills to dictate. (If the intended user has not mastered the ability to write using complete sentences and thoughts, dictation software will not work well.) Because of this, we do not provide technical support for the use of Dictate with anyone under the age of 14.** **While most individuals’ voices finish changing by age fourteen this is not always the case.
