Can childhood/adolescent depression affect the development of the reproductive system?
hi Depression does not affect the morphology of the reproductive system meaning ur genitals will look normal and feel normal….but yes severe depression does affect the functioning of the reproductive system. It causes certain hormonal changes if severe combined with mood changes… eg…u will not feel like masturbating and u’l feel sexually low if ur depressed….in females severe depression associated with loss of appetite can even result in menstrual problems. There fore it is important for sexual health that the cause of depression is investigated and treatment given.
