Can child support be waived if both parents agree to do so?
No. Child support is considered to be income for the purpose of the child and the custodial parent of the child does not have the right to waive child support. Child support guidelines must be calculated in every case, even if the parents have equal timesharing with the child(ren), and child support must be paid accordingly.
