Q: What is the difference between the SQ Blood DNA Kit and the SQ ll Blood DNA Kit? A: The SQ l Blood DNA first selectively lyses red blood cells and then lyses white blood cells. The kit then uses buffer to precipitate out the proteins. The SQll Blood DNA first lyses the red and white blood cells down to the cell nucleus. The nucleus is then lysed and the proteins are digested with proteinase K. Both kits then require an isopropanol precipitation.
