Yes. Now that OBD2 vehicle population is rising, many U.S. states are using OBD2 testing in place of the traditional tailpipe testing to pass or fail vehicle emissions or “smog” checks. While requirements vary slightly from state to state, the color-coded LEDs on the CarMD tester will give you a very good indication if your vehicle is likely to pass its emissions test.
