Can canine vestibular syndrome cause blindness?

0

As far as I know, blindness is not an after effect of vestibular. I did a lot of research about vestibular after my dog was (thankfully) diagnosed with vestibular disease when he was 15. I say thankfully because I thought he had a stroke. It was severe; he could not stand or eat and his eyes kept rolling, He could not even lift is head. Because he was also 15, I was sure I would have to put him down. Luckily, he was properly diagnosed. His recovery was slow. I had to give him water (I added electrolytes) through a dropper for about a week, because he could not lift his head to drink or eat. He was able to start eating and drinking on his own in about 2 weeks. Although there was vast improvement by the 4th week, it took about 6 months for him to fully recover, except for the remaining head tilt. He never had a recurrence. he is now 19 years old! I am so glad he was properly diagnosed.
