Can candidates re-sit just one unit?

When planning for re-sits, centres must still adhere to the 50% Terminal Rule – at least 50% of the qualification must be taken by examination at the end-point of certification. For English, this means that candidates would have to re-sit both Unit 2431 and Unit 2432. For English Literature, candidates could just re-sit one unit (Poetry and Prose – either 2442 Post-1914 OR 2446 Pre-1914) as this is weighted at 50% However, if the perceived problem is Drama (2441 Post-1914 OR 2445 Pre-1914), the unit is only weighted at 20% and candidates would also have to take the Poetry and Prose Unit (2442 Post-1914 OR 2446 Pre-1914).
