Can cancer be turned into a chronic disease rather than a deadly disease?

Its certainly a chronic disease for some already. I would have to say that chronic diseases are deadly its the acute phases of them which are dangerous. Very slow progressing cancers can be deemed chronic diseases as they are longterm conditions such as some lymphomas. What generally makes cancers deadly is the metastatic spread. Once spread, cancer is very hard to control and this can be viewed as the acute phase of the disease. To answer your question cancer cannot be turned into a chronic disease as a generic term because some cancers are very agressive and therefore not chronic but acute.
