Can CALC4CAD perform simple beam analysis?
Yes. The beam analysis uses classical equations to find the stress and deflection of a beam with a simple load. Choose from simple, fixed, cantilever or mixed beams and select a cross section from i-beam to round tube. Enter the dimensions for the beam and the load and the stress and deflection are calculated. Can CALC4CAD calculate the belt length over three pulleys? Yes. Enter the X and Y locations and pulley diameters and the length of the belt around that system is calculated. The system can be back-solved for any of the variables by entering a belt length and leaving one of the variables blank. The blank variable is calculated and a diagram of the system is drawn. Can CALC4CAD calculate a straight line through data points? Yes. The curve fitting utility takes X and Y data that may be collected from an experiment or other source, and fits a straight line or curve through the points.
